It's been fun, but I traded in my Tacoma '13

While did not post on here often, I was very active in reading. Just thought I'd like you all know I traded in my 2013 dcsb for a 2014 Ford F-150 XLT. The price was just too good to pass up. I received a trade in value of 25k on my Tacoma when I owed just under 20k. The incentives plus my family ford discount(plan X) brought the truck down from 43k to 31.8k. Since it was truck month there were more rebates than usual...

The ford includes HIDs and fog lamps, leather interior, back up camera, power rear window, Bluetooth, towing package, it is V8, 5.0 L. XM/Sirius satellite free for 6 months and 2 years of free maintenance on the truck. The inside space of this truck is crazy; so much room and a more comfortable ride. I am currently averaging 19.8 MPG in the first 700 miles.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1426483918.037543.jpg

While it isn't the 2015, I could not fathom paying upwards of 60k for the newer model.

I hope this doesn't start a flame war, just thought I'd let you know as I feel I got a great deal on more truck.

Did you trade one 2wd for another 2wd? 31,800 seems like a lot for a 2wd Ford, no?

I think you made a very smart move.In my opinion, the Ford is a lot more truck.I am positive it will be a much better handling truck.I will also be moving back to Ford soon.

F-150's are great. Drive what you want. But don't expect the same resale experience. That is where you'll pay...again.

Not to speak for the OP, but the computer on my Ferd generally reads lower than what is measured. I can get mid 19's out of the 5.0L 4x4 in the summer. I'm down to 18 in the winter. The computer readout says 17.5.

I don't get the love for plush trucks (any brand)........... unless you are an interstate hauler dragging some form of parking lot camper around, or maybe your Bill Dance bass boat.

But just as regular transport, I'd much rather do my cruising in a nice sedan. And if some more space is required, or an elevated seating position, even modern mini vans are quite feature rich. Somewhere in the early '00's they even began to outperform old Porsches in autox venues.

Of course I can't fathom paying that kind of money for much of anything utilitarian. I mean you are now barking in the neighborhood of an LSx Miata. :D

Nice truck, but good luck. Our VP salesman at my truck shop has a 2014. Already had to have driveshaft replaced and ecm circuit board for auto trans replaced. Under warranty at least.

Some people just love driving trucks. Some people don't like being low to ground and rather be sitting higher up.
