Could new tires make me need an alignment?

I mounted up my new 265-75-16 cooper STT's with stock suspension and now it seems to pull to the left a bit. By the way the stt tires were tough to balance with up to as much as 5oz of stick on weights on the inside and 3oz on the inner lip. Just wondering how you mud tire guys feel about balancing with weights or do you guys like the beads or sand stuff inside the tires?

Tire/wheel changes don't affect alignment. For more critical applications (e.g. road racing), alignment is done with precision-machined hub stands to work around tire/wheel runout:

Swap front tires left-right and see if the pulling behavior changes.

    right
as you said swap tires see what happens

I bet the tire is lopsided

cooper is a fairly cheap tire for something with such huge lugs,
that usually means the bigger the tire the less they care about the fine tuning and balance and roundness.
