Hola, I've got an 05 tacoma that just got a frame replacement 2 days ago. I had the dealer put in some Bilstein 5100 shocks set at 1.75" and as you can see below it looks pretty level right now. I've got P265/65R17 tires on there now, and I'm trying to decide if I should set the front to 2.5" and then level the rear with a new set of bilsteins. (http://www.bilsteincanada.com/product_info.php?cPath=306_3992_4031_12880&products_id=2450)

They gave me the 4 new leaf springs with the frame, instead of the shitty 3 before.

What do you guys think? Will it make the tires look dinky? Does it level out alright, and what height would I adjust the rear shocks to? Is it a good idea to go with 4 bilsteins and lift the truck that way? The right side tire rubs when turned fully to the right, I think on the upper control arm, not really sure how that's possible because it never did that before, so hopefully setting the front to 2.5" would get rid of that. But yeah any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks :D

Bilsteins won't alone lift the rear. You will need an aal or block. The rear shocks are not height adjustable like the fronts. It looks good the way it sits. You can even put a 265/70/17 if u want to, it will fit.

I have a brand new set of goodyear duratracs, cant really get bigger tires for a couple years now :(

how does AAL work then? can I just take off the ubolts and put another stock leaf in there or do I buy an aftermarket single spring? I know there are kits but I just got the new leaf springs 2 days ago :S

are blocks worth it then? im kinda new to all this lol, thank you for the quick reply though :D

Stay away from blocks. They suck. You can get a 1.5" or 2" aal from many places (toytec, icon, wheelers, etc) its just an extra leaf for lift. You may need longer ubolts when installing though. Honestly, if u have new Duratracs, I would just leave it alone, it already looks good. When it comes time to get tires, maybe then look into lifting it a little more.

that new leaf pack will settle some. your probably going to be nose high at 1.75 setting in the front as is after it settles.

    Especially on the DCLB.

My 2009 had that same size tire with 2.5" lift in front and 1.5" in back. The tires didn't look small. It actually looked pretty good.

It went really well, the dealer had it done in 5 days, they charged me $900 for a brake job because apparently the calipers were seized so I got new calipers, rotors, and brake pads. Labor cost killed me there. They happily put the new shocks in, but the right tire rubs for some reason, and they scratched the tailgate a bit.

New frame is awesome, everything feels great.

If the rear end starts to sag even just a bit I'll look into lifting the back with an AAL and set the shocks to 2.5"

I have mine set to 1.75 and just 5100s in the rear. After a year of settle my truck is still level. I think the back is 3/8 of an inch higher then the front from measuring from the center of the hub. I'm happy with it.
