beaches on the bay here are so gradual, that you have to walk 40 feet out into the water before it's deep enough for the rc sailboats. water is still really cold, but I want to get these sailboats on the water before may......so I had to purchase some waders. should arrive in the mail today. #RCproblems

I loved playing with it I mean it doesn't compare to racing my 1/8th at the track but its fun to go inside/outside and play around. I also had a lot done to mine the first thing I would do is go brushless but thats just me I like going fast. All in all I had fun with it and still have it sitting in a box somewhere.

Is it durable enough for a 5 year old... His drives my scx10 just fine... Well throttle control goes out the window some times... Just because my boy likes to GO FAST

Yea as it comes I would say it would be fine for you 5 year old but I probably wouldnt upgrade to lipo batteries or brushless until he/she learns to drive it better.

I have been flying R/C airplanes for over 50 years. Pattern. Fun-fly. Pylon racers. Ducted fan jets. (no real turbine jets, they often cost more than my Taco). More recently I have been flying a little electric helicopter (full collective pitch chopper) that is about 12" long. Can hover inverted, do acrobatics no real helicopter would dream of trying (loops, rolls, inverted hover, "tick tock" and such. The electric batteries have gone crazy with the new lithium-poly batteries. Now tiny batteries have enough capacity to actually fly one of these little choppers for 8-10 minutes.

Fun to have something I can fly while sitting in my living room. :)

Cats beware, however, high head-speed makes them potentially quite dangerous if a cat decides it looks like something alive...

I ended up with a Losi 1/18 and 1/36 2wd as well as a 1/24 Redcat Sumo. I got wide RPM bumpers for the two Losi to help protect the front end from crashes. I located some bearing kits to lengthen run times some, but I'll wait to see what exactly I've got to work with when they come in since they were used. Also plan on maybe changing the pinion gears to get them closer together in speed so no one kid can be 'the fastest'. Level the playing field some. I'm thinking a track with obstacles for each RC in the backyard, too. Hopefully I can make a learning experience for responsibility since they're only 11, 5, and 3.

I'll see how these work out then order me one. I've got a 20t in my Wroncho and it's a little faster now. But I do have a new set of pinion and spur gears to slow it back down if need be.

I am in the process of dreaming up a coarse on my property as well.
Got to clean up the pond and redo it... Final son is old enough where I can fill it back in and get the water fall working.... Might make it bigger and build a bridge for the Rigs to cross. Also be kind of cool to make the water fall a cool trail too. 6dbf61a7fafbe2133f49e692893b08bf_5922c3ce090aba1383d5ebeb65767b82cd8b8f26.jpgd2dd4abb70204775ccc26c0aa3a10d31_dd00035849391fc87831c7cb5bbae9cf1a0bb752.jpg

Thanks, Colin! I do the walks for autism every year and I figured I can try and raise some extra money this year since I've been painting more. The body was donated by a pro-line team driver and the vinyl masks for the puzzle pieces were also donated by a local graphics company owned by my buddy and his dad.

I bid on a pair of RCs on eBay more than a week ago and forgot about them. I bid $40 for a pair of old discontinued A-Tech Korean made RCs. These were the ones that got me thinking about getting my kids some and I ended up winning the bid by $1. They appear to almost new. Does anyone have any knowledge of them? There appears to be some AsiaTees and other Chinese aluminum parts for them. Some old reviews and threads from 8 years ago say they were decent rigs. May end up some $20 bashers then move on to the Losi.
