    Hello guys,

I'm new on this forum. My wife and I bought this tacoma 1999 extented cab, 2,4l 2 wheel drive. We bought it at 106 000km and in a years we did 20 000km.

Its the time for us to change the rear absorber. I want to add a good suspension. but i always found suspension for lift truck and not a lot of suspension are available for an original tacoma 2,4l 5 stud wheel.

I want a good allaround suspension and increase my control on street. I always drive on road and I always have 250 pounds of sand in my bed to add some traction (2 wheel drive). Maybe 30% of the time im loaded and i will add a truck cap this summer.

One more thing, we leave in province of quebec, so in winter a lot of salt and temp variation.

I have 250$ - 300$ of budget for my rear suspension. Can someone guide me?

There picture of the truck :)

If you are talking about changing the absorbers, i.e. the shocks as we call them in America, you cannot go wrong with a stock Bilstein replacement. I am sure Monroe also makes OEM replacements. Any shock is going to be better than the worn out ones you have on there now. Most of the OEM replacements will suit your needs just fine, and will fit into your $200-300 budget.

I personally do not think you need new springs as the picture shows the truck sitting at a normal ride height. Is the picture with the bed loaded or unloaded with sand bags?

Show us a pic of it loaded down. If it squats a lot, you may want to consider new springs or having your current ones re-arched, to help handle the load if you intend to run sandbags in the bed for most of the year.

It looks fine to me. You probably just need new shocks. There are plenty of good options for replacement that will fit in your budget. You can probably order them online, just search your vehicle and for rear shocks. Bilstein and Monroe are fairly reputable shock absorber brands.
