Sometime ago I did the OMD rear leaf spring mod with great success. Maybe a little too much success... My bed now sits a good bit higher than the front. This is likely exaggerated by worn out front springs and shocks that are in need of replacing, badly.

So - I used to run Tundra springs and shocks on my 4runner. They were the progressive TRD springs and cost me a pretty penny new from a dealer. I know I don't want to go that route here, but I was thinking some regular Tundra shocks and springs for cheap may work. Something like this:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/281117278599?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Just FYI - I am trying to replace the front springs and get enough lift to match the rear as cheaply as possible. Wife went back to school and down on one income now. I am not looking for a permanent solution that flexes like a 4-link and rides like a BMW. I would like to just get the front up a little and smooth out the terrible front ride a little.

Anyone done something like this with positive results?

I put some Moog springs on my 4 Runner recently and they ride great. Only cost $100 shipped from Amazon for all 4 springs. I uses the ones designed for the V8 on my V6 and it added about 1.5" to the front. I'm not sure which model number you'd use on a Tacoma but a little research will probably net you some good results.

What year 4runner? No V8s prior to 2003 or 2004 so no stronger 4runner springs available for my 1998 that I know of.

99 4 runner springs on 4runner or tundra shocks. I got mine from rock auto for like. 45 bucks. I have the tacoma bilstiens and they are just a little under valved.
Those springs on the bottom setting gave about 1.5 lift. But the truck feel way more stable. I did a write up with the general hd rear springs. 10k and no sag yet.
