The new guy must drive down hill alot .

I'm on 33's now and my mileage has fallen off to about 15-16 MPG S/C with a good blend of highway and city driving. My last tank lasted a little under 400 km but it was empty and I had done mostly highway with it.

I got 430km on the highway the other day and had 1/8 tank left. Then I basically idled the last 1/8 away in town.. but very glad to see more than 400km to a tank again :D

All the potholes on the hwy in Quebec really affect your rolling resistance.

Did you recalibrate your speedo for tire size or do you use something else to gauge distance?

Your mileage will be a little better than you think. When your truck think's it's done 100 km it's probably done more like 105. It would be 107.something but the factory speedo is already measuring high. Don't have to recalibrate after lift but the bigger tires means you go over 7% further per revolution.

430 km today , 70 litres going back in , fuel light came on at 421, the highway time definitely helped

You can recalibrate your speedo? Anyone have a link on how to do this?

Hah! Well I drive 110 kms round trip to work each day, if one way was down hill the other way would be up hill. Actually is pretty much flat as most of SWO is.
I am running 100% stock but considering larger rims and tires... But then as I read it looks like a lot of mileage is lost with bigger tires.... Thinking of 31" would they fit without a body lift?
And would that break all the electronics.... Antilock, traction control...etc
    I have a 2014 sr5 crew cab 4x4

31s should fit no problem without lift. Might get some rubbing at full lock but minor. Don't know what the effect will be on the traction control, mine is an 06 so don't have it. No problems with anti lock brakes though and I'm running 32" Toyo's.

31's no problem. Mine rubbed the mudflaps slightly when hitting bumps at full lock. I used a heat gun to re-form the mudflaps and get an extra little bit of clearance to stop that. I was on 31's and stock suspension at the time.

edit: also no issues with traction control or any other electronic stuff on my 2012.

I ran 265/70/17 Hankook MT's with no rub at all for almost 2 years at stock height with the flaps on
