    Let me clarify:

I meant/was referring to programming BCUs. And not necessarily (just) Toyota (ie, the GM, Rover, BMW I own)

Holy s%$t balls Batman - this Fotga Techstream clone is AWESOME!!

I FINALLY got a working XP laptop (took 3 tries from eBay, but today was the day). I bought version 9.10.037 of this off Amazon, and copied the entire mini disc (after scanning it and finding it to be free of virus and malware) to a thumb drive. COpied that over the XP laptop, and installed. Worked perfectly the first time.

I installed the Techstream software, connected the cable, then installed the cable driver. Voila. Hooked up to my Camry no problem. I chose "Europe" as the region, which is what the notes state to do, and did have to put in a name, number, stuff like that (which I just made up), but it fired up and connected to my Camry no problem.

I ran several tests, recorded the system for 5 minutes and then played back graphs of loads of things. The best $26 I have ever spent for the cars. Tomorrow I hook it up to my Tacoma and will see what I see for it!

The software does have a "reprogram ECU" option, but I am steering clear of that. I did see that I could change things like the time my interior lights stay on (7.5, 15 or 30 seconds), change the seat belt warning chimes - stuff like that (for the Camry).

    F'ing SWEET.

I agree, pretty awesome to have all that power for less than $30!

I can give you the eBay store that is selling Dell D610's with XP for $95, shipping included. Came in perfect on my end. Lightweight and just right for this app.

True that - thanks for pointing me in that direction! Now I just need to learn how to read all these values, get to start understanding what values are indicating pre-failures or concerns, etc. Now I have a laptop to run that and my borescope (did some test videos last night in my office), so just waiting for the weekend to play.

Ok I have the software and laptop that 97TacoNM recommended. Installed the software and I can get to the health screen and monitor screens just fine, I just can't find the options for setting door locks, key fobs, alarms, etc.

Also my ABS light flashes repeatedly during the interface.

    What am I doing wrong?

Haven't checked the site in awhile. The ABS flashing is normal I think. I'll look at it more later and see what I can offer up.

I wonder if this has something to do with '04 Tacoma's? My '04 flashes the ABS light very rapidly as well.

I don't think it is normal. My later model year Toyota's with ABS don't have and issue with that light flashing.

Like said above, I would have to play with it again to remember how to get to the customized settings. I do remember you can only make changes to things that are highlighted in yellow...I think.

My ABS does not flash on my '09 Camry when I use it, but when I connected it to my bro-in-law's '02 Sequoia the ABS light flashed while it was on. I read somewhere that this may happen, can't recall where I saw that. And you are correct that only those systems in yellow are the ones you can access.

This is a known issue with 01-04 tacos that have ABS. If you really want to fix it, look into the Ultragauge threads on which wire to disconnect from the OBD II port.

    Just as some update info:

The software has been used by me to successfully diagnose a bad CAT in an '03 Camry, and it is pointing to a bad trans pressure regulator (SLT) in my '09 Camry. It sure is coming in handy!
