Pictures will help us help you. I run 285/70/17's and I love them. Do you have a coilover lift? Are there spacers on the truck? Are there blocks in the back or an add-a-leaf?

Welcome! 17 inch wheels are a good size, you could go with 265-70-17 tires with no problems or 285-70-17's depending on your setup (based only on your pictures it might rub a bit) As I'm sure you already know, bigger tires mean less fuel economy and less acceleration, but also add more clearance, height and off road performance to the truck. Congrats on your purchase, looks great!!

I believe 265/70/17 should be ok on stock wheels. Not 100% sure on that though.
