I want to throw out a feeler and see if there is any interest.

I'm tentatively planning a trip for May 28-30. The route still needs work but the idea is something like this

Friday head to Pisgah Nat Forrest, hit some dirt roads and mild trails starting near Collettesville. Run the dirt and FS roads through Pisgah Nation forrest via Brown Mountian, Mortimer ect (this is the part that needs planning work) and end up camping Near Hurricane Creek (I-40)Friday night.

Saturday run Hurricane Creek and Pilgram, then head south to Gulches for the night

Sunday wheel Gulches till the early afternoon and head home.

Anyone interested in joining in for all 3 days or that would be in for 1 or 2 days of it post up.

The area down around brown mtn and mortimer is nice. There's some old factory towns in there that were destroyed by a flood and are remnants left. I'll try to go but probably won't make it out to hurricane and gulches.

Here are some points that I've noted while out there. The red flag is one place I've camped. There is a lot of good hiking and waterfalls in there. Dark side cliffs (seen 2 Golden Eagles there), Harper creek trails, there is another campsite near a waterfall but you have to hike to it.

This is what a member on another board sent me. Does it make any sense to you? I have been trying to plot it on the map, but I'm not following along too well

_Ok, get yourself to collettsville and take adako rd to brown mntn if you desire or take a right on rt 1407 or Murphy rd. it turns into maple grove baptist church rd which is a 20+ mile winding dirt rd with a few decent viewpoints and possibly a few side roads to explore. That will take you rt 90 where you can go left and drop into Mortimer and see the remains of the town. Continue on 90 to Edgemont and take Roseboro rd until you come upon FR192 and hang a right. This will be the only technical driving of the trip and it's not really difficult but fun nonetheless. It goes up the mountain a few miles and there are 2-3 places to set up camp if you'd like. At the end of 192 you can go left towards 221 and Linville or right towards Edgemont for another 20+ miles of dirt into downtown blowing rock. I think I took Globe rd IIRC to get there but it's been awhile and my map kinda sucks.. All total it's good for about 60 miles or so of driving dirt with a few nice stop offs for views and streams. There's even a spot for some rock climbing on Edgemont rd right near where it intersects with 221. Hope it helps a little at least._

Yea, I know of rt 90. I've been through there a bunch but always coming down from Linville on Edgemont Rd. I'll try to lay it on a map as well.

I'm interested in these trips, but I wanted to know if the light trails would be too much for a stock suspension/wheels on a base 2012 dbl cab?

We would love to run this. Unfortunately we probably won't be able to be there either. That is less then a month away from our wedding, which you all are invited to come to at Uwharrie on June 20th. :)

Will be a blast with lots of fun. Hope to see some of you there.
