I bought a rebuild from Auto Zone for $95 and I'll get $25 back when I give them the one I pull off when doing my needle bearing. Brand new was $85 with no core charge.

Re-manufactured/aftermarket axles are junk. $100 bucks isn't a bad deal if the boots are in good condition. Brand new OEM from Toyota your looking at ~$350

I had a aftermarket temporarily and the tolerances we're so out of wack it was leaking diff oil. Others have had better results but most will say stick with OEM if you can find a good deal and wheel your truck.

If you ever plan on going Long travel, you also can only use OEM axles.

Well, shit. Good to find out before install...

I'm planning to have the needle bearing done soon. I've been running with vibes for over a year (15K miles?) and I'm sure the axle is damaged.

I have all the goodies from ECGS, so the axle is the last piece on my list.

I can't speak for the remaining axles that are there because I bought axles that were listed NTO (new take off). The ones that are still available are the same price as the ones I bought and looked the same as ones that have pictures so I'm assuming they are in the same shape.

Hartford you will be getting yours before me as I ship to the states then head over the border to pick them up, Im ordering more parts still so Im going to pick everything up sometime in April.

Can you let us know how the wear looks on the machined part of the axle that the needle bearing is in contact with?

I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and spend the $350... I don't like surprises, especially ones that could cost more in the long run.

Is there a driver and passenger side or is it the same part number for both sides?

That would be convenient if one would work with either side.

Here is my update. It came a little late due to easter holidays.

I wound up ordering two of these. Glad I did. I got them both in later last week and then had to leave to do family easter stuff. Got back today and took some pictures and really looked them over.

I will say the shipping packaging left a little to be desired. They were just placed in card board box and sent. There was no protection for the the threaded ends. Turns out that really only mattered for one of the two.

One of the axles has the threads stripped for the nut holds the wheel bearing on. The damage is after the hole for the locking pin. Not sure if I will try and send this back or clean the threads so a nut will go on. Seems like the threads that matter are all in fine shape. This seems to be the only damage other than some seals that were left on and got beat up in shipping.

The other axle seems to be just fine. The ends for both of these that ride in the needle bearing seem just fine.

Here are the both of them.

Here is the needle bearing end of the axle with damaged threads. There is a line that is a little rough but it is the only spot. Just went back and felt it again. It really isn't that rough at all. Some super fine emery cloth or polishing compound will take it right out.
    IMG_4405_e43417b4175dd10cbef251b4fa0c3e9930402627.jpg

Here are the messed up threads. I think a wafer wheel on an end grinder will allow me to clean these up just fine to get a nut to spin by.

Threaded end of the best axle.
    IMG_4412_e6996fe19253cfb652c2103448f9180a5bad6c63.jpg

Needle bearing end of the good axle. No rough places here at all. Really happy with this one.
    IMG_4413_718428ba15f8b5b673820eaab07563d0e685f5d8.jpg

Here is a picture of the old bent seals. Just replace these.

    IMG_4407_a1f637240eca710174f2a3356450135a09702a39.jpg

All in all I'm happy with this as I feel I can make the damaged one into a usable spare, and the damage free axle seems to be in perfect shape. won't be ideal.

Got this job done two days ago. Took longer than it should have as it fought me the whole way. I counted on being able to use a pry bar and hammer to pop the old axle out of the diff. That did not work. Rented a slide hammer and it popped right out. Also noticed I needed to do the brakes on the driver side as one pad was almost gone because the caliper was frozen.

Original axle didn't look bad, but my vibes are gone. There was a little scoring on the surface that rides in the bearing, but it was barely noticable.

All the seals were easy enough to replace. One seemed to be dealer only. Couldn't find it at any auto parts store by cross referencing the oem part number.

There are three seals that may be needed when replacing these axles. My last picture is just a dust cover. I could not find a part number for this and just reused the one from the axle I took out. Pry a little at time working around the axle and it comes off with no deformation. Just don't mess it up when removing the axle from the differential.

Working from the spindle to the diff:

The first seal is set into the spindle and is OEM Part # 90316-A0001 and National Part # 710573.

Second seal is on the CV Shaft and mates to the spindle seal which is OEM Part # 90304-A0001 and couldn't find this seal any where but the dealer. I had read here in another thread that National part # 710477 was it, but it isn't.

Third seal is OEM Part # 90311-47027 for the Driver Side, Part # 90311-47026 for the Passenger Side, and these two seals are set in the differential. I don't have an alternate part number for these either and I got it from ECGS with the bushing.
