Thinking of selling the taco to help fund another build. How much if any above kbb is the truck worth with the DMZ rear end and MT up front? Since the truck is long paid for it might just be worth keeping it to use running to the hardware store or for trips down to mex when I don't want to deal with a caged truck where getting down and back is more about reliability than hauling ass through the silt. It has just been sitting since I picked up the new project so considering my options. As much as I'd like 2 LT trucks not 100% sure I'm going to finish the taco build.

Wear your seatbelt kids, I was in a rollover and if I wasn't wearing it, it could have been way worse.

Why do a cage if you are just going to mad max it everywhere? Safety third!

Just about done. A few overlay plates, and it's on to the next one.

Well it's far from new but a 96 bronco with the 5.8. Looking at solo kit for the front and maybe linking the rear. Had a chance to ride in one and it was pretty amazing (short wheel base and all) what it would do. Bang for the buck the Broncos are more cost effective to build. (Allows funds to fix the rest if it:D) solo calls the Broncos "dirty hooker travel" Cost to build the suspension front and rear is less than the front kit for the taco (springs not links) and it's pretty easy to pull 18" up front with 4x4

I don't know if there is a right way or wrong way of doing this so i'll throw this up here to see what you guys think. Got my supports/gussets for the cam bolts tabs in. I pick up 3' of 5/16" for .50 cents to make these. I cut them all about 1 1/2" long. I welded them to the original tabs and to the frame. Cleaned them up and painted them. I did 12 out of 16 because of the steering rack. I do those when I put the suspension in. Hopefully these hold well. If not then i'll remove them and fab up full gussets for those sections.

On this one I just ran a few beads along side of it. I'll see how it does. If it doesn't work then i'll just make something else to go there.

Has anyone gotten their truck repainted for a good price? I saw caged lt truck on here repainted but cant remember the username. My bedsides and fenders need to be repainted and my paint isnt in particularly good condition. Im considering doing a whole new paint job maybe just single stage.

I know McNeil does whole paint jobs pretty cheap, I got my fenders done from them with a fast turn around.

Seems backwards to me... Build the tacoma for your balls out blasting thru the desert ride and build the bronco as your reliable around town do anything go anywhere at a reasonable pace and always get you home ride. At least that's how I'd do it I guess if it were me. Or sell the tacoma and build two broncos! LOL

If it's an offroader me and my brother just get some nice spray paint and rattle can our trucks. Kinda don't see the point spending up to $1,000 for a paint job and possibly ruin it on the first trail. But that's just my opinion.

I agree completely if it was my offroad only toy, or maybe an older truck. Its still an 06 and my dd so I want it to look decent. Just sick of silver really and my bedsides are still white so something needs to be painted regardless

I got my fiberglass all painted for $400. Not the best, but matches 100% better than I could do with spray paint. Where the sand blasted I had Line-X put down and looks great after 2 seasons now. If you have a white truck I would understand not painting the fiberglass and I probably wouldn't either.
