They mount up great and I like it better for camping because of the extra height away from critters and such. Also works better if you have an annex to have it mounted on a shell. The only downfall is the added weight up that high makes your truck behave differently on some terrain. Its not terribly bad but you can feel it compared to having the tent on a bedrack.

The guy I bought it off of said it was a 1800 but my brother just asked the same question and it measures the same as a 1600. Screw it a $700 eezi-awn is a steal either way. And it takes up damn near the whole bed mounted on the frontrunner load bars. I can't wait to take it on a serious wheeling trip and actually getting quality sleep

I'm pretty sure that the Eezi-Awn is a 1600 not the 1800. Essentially the same size as the Tepui Kukenam. Nice tents, but I like that larger windows on the Tepui. Great price for that Eezi-Awn though.

Yeah I have been looking into the Eezi Awn Lineup and it looks more like the 1600. The 1800 is like the size of the Tepui XL and the 1400 looks closer to the kukenham and autana with the 1600 being right in the middle.

Like you said though. Great price regardless of how big it is. Especially if it is in good shape.

Yeah that looks to be even the 1400. The 1600 is 62" x 48" folded up and I think our beds are only 62" so it would be right up against the back window or overhanging the back if it were that.

How do you like the front runner bars? I have never seen them in person or heard much about them but was always curious.

His bed is a 6' bed, not the 5' bed like yours Zach, so I think that is the 1600. The Front Runner bars are actually pretty nice (although I like yours better). The uprights on the Front Runner rack always surprise me. They look really thin and I always would worry about them supporting the weight adequately but I've seen several people use them with good luck so evidence shows their just fine.

Yeah I had a stupid moment. Accesscab = 6' bed. I have seen the actual crossbars from frontrunner, just not the uprights for the bedrack. I had similar thoughts as you had and thats why I was curious.

Here's a pic I found that shows the uprights.

Interesting. Yeah that surprises me they are adequate, especially just mounted to the tracks with no supports on the bed sides or anything.

Those ones are different than the ones I've seen on 1st gen Tacomas. The ones I saw firsthand had a flat piece that sat on top of the bedrails.

i like the bars a lot! i was originally going to fab something up with steel but i didn't want the added weight. The 4cyl can only take so much haha. Then i found out that Frontrunner is only like 20 minutes from my house so i drove down there and got the tent mount kit and load bars same day. I have a feeling that Frontrunner being so close is a bad and good thing all rolled into one. Also the load bars are super solid. Way stronger than one would think.

It isn't the load bars id be concerned with, its the plastic rails along the bed.

Ill cross that bridge when i get to it. So far the only movement i get out of it with the tent mounted is from frame flex. At least from my initial shakedown in the sequoias. plus its less than 200lbs (dynamic weight) spread out over four 4"(approx.) mounts in the tracks. And when i sleep in it as long as i don't have 2 Heifers in there with me my calibrated gut thinks it will be alright. I guess time will tell once the shiny and new fades away

I'm about set to order a Tepui Kukenam Sky from Box Rocket.
It'll spend most of it's time on top of an M416 trailer.
Need to build the top rails for the trailer; I'll post up when I'm done, June-ish.
Adam's been really great to talk to. Nice guy who clearly knows his product.

Got out this weekend. When packing up the tent I noticed a small tear in the wall. It's right by hinge for the annex support.

Any ideas on how to repair it? It's about a 3/4" cut one way, with another starting to form vertically in the middle of it. I don't know how to sew. I'm sure I'd botch that hardcore.

Right on. I've used other gear aid stuff and it's worked well. Have you used Tear-Aid before? I've used it on a lot of pvc and hypalon things but they have one for fabrics as well. Like goretex, nylon, etc.
