The 4 fat dude test

Got a 2010 Dbl cab TRD Offroad with 3 leaf system.I love the plush ride!I tow an enclosed Wells Cargo trailer fully loaded @ 3,500lbs.Hooked the trailer up with minor squat of the ass end but did not tow her yet.The other day after work I got 4 employees,each over 200lbs(1 at 380)to get in the bed of my taco.The suspension dropped to about 2-3" before my bump stop.I told the guys to jump up and down in my bed.When they did every other jump resulted in hitting the bump stop.We are talking here around 1000lbs of fatasses in my bed.I think my little test was successful............what do you guys think? I'm trying to avoid the TSB aal as much as possible and think I might not need it.Your opinions are appreciated.

 

My truck doesn't need it either. Some of us got lucky...

 

hook up the trailer and go for a drive, that is really the only way to know how it will feel on the road. However I will give you credit for the fat guy test

 

I loaded a 600lb ATV in the bed and about 150 lbs of camping gear in the cab and was bottoming out quite a bit... I got the TSB springs and honestly the ride is not that much stiffer, but doesn't bottom out anymore...

It's a personal choice...

 

I have a YFZ450 with ext A-Arms.........won't fit over my wheel wells.I plan on buying a 16ft toy hauler next year and hope my Taco can take the tongue weight.Like I said......I totally love my stock ride and do not want to AAL if possible.

 

Why would you turn down a free upgrade?

The ride bro....the ride.My Taco,to me,rides right now as plush as a pimps Cadillac.I do not want my ass end as stiff as a board if ya know what I mean.Plus...the 2010's do not even have the TSB yet,even though my leaf spring #'s are the same as the 2008-2009's.

 

If you get the TSB, change the rear Shock Absorbers.. 5100's or the OME will work great. I noticed a HUGE difference in ride when I changed mine.. after the TSB. If you plan on putting fat asses in the back ofter, or towing frequently.. just get er done. You'll need to eventually.

There's 500 SF of laminate wood flooring in the bed that you can't see...
