Hey guys, just put a new battery and starter on my truck last Saturday and my buddy asked me what these "baffles" off of my intake were. They are circled in red.

My guess would be that they limit intake somehow from the factory but I really don't know. Can I remove them, what do they do, etc. Thanks.

They aid in tuning the intake, and keeping the sound level down. Removing them has no affect on the engine, just makes it a little louder thru the intake.

just in case you didn't know you can't leave the open holes. a buddy of mine got rid of all the resonators on his little 1.8L sentra and there was a big difference in noise it had a growl especially on the freeway at wot

NO. No you cant....then you would be sucking in Un filtered air into the engine. NOT a good idea.
