Ok, one day after calling Toyota comment line my supercharger is up and running!

They udated the firmware and I'm picking the truck up tomorrow after the interior work is done.

Here's a pic I took when the SC was being installed:

NICE! I didn't know they offered the TRD SC for the 2010's!

Since you're SC is fixed, I'm going to steal the thread and blast you with questions: :p

-Does the factory / extended warranty cover this?

-Is is safe to SC the motor when the truck is brand new? Or should I wait a year to even consider it (to make sure nothing else is wrong?)

-Is it 50 state street legal?

-Is it safe to use all year round??? (There's an aftermarket SC for the 2007+ Jeep Wranglers, but you need to disconnect the accessory belt when the temperature drops below freezing.

    - Regular or premium gas???

-Any changes to the fuel economy???

-Should I trust any Toyota Dealership to install it??? (Dealerships scare me. Toyota comes across to me as a dealership that can take care of their mom-cars, but can they safely install a performance item?)

-Does it play nice with TRD exhaust and Intake as well???

-Can you post videos when you have a chance?!

    1. If you install it yourself then the parts are warranted for 12months/12000 miles as it were. If the dealer installs it then the parts and labor are covered for the remaining length of time on your warranty (in my case, that's 6 years!) if your warranty is up already I believe the parts/service are 3 yrs/36,000.
    1. about installation, the guy at toyota has been with the dealership for 14 years and is their "master tech" I believe they called him. The dude knew his stuff. I'd definitely demand to have it installed by the most experienced tech they have. There is a lot of work that goes into this install, I observed off and on and was glad I paid to have it done.

So, the Tacoma Parts guys are saying the TRD CAI will not fit my vehicle, with SC, and that it will void my warranty. Is this crazy or what?

    Has anyone else encountered this?

    part number is ptr05-35061

    Thanks.

This blower can be had on eBay for $2700. There's no reason to waste $4500 unless u got it like that. If u troll around on eBay u will find the guy who sells these, just shoot him an email with an offer.

Also, the rhumor about the TRD cai not working with the blower is that it can run lean if u have the ecu reflashed. The ECU can compensate for the extra air but in some cases it can run lean which is very bad.
