light foot (rpms below 2500 if at all possible), coasting to a stop, try to time lights to always move, drive the speed limit, proper inflation of tires, tailgate up always, windows up when driving over 50mph...and what do you know...all are free!!

then there is maintenance...synthetic oil on every 5k oil change, syn rear diff oil, proper spark plug and air filter changing...little more money than normally spent, but worth it!

    hope that helps!

and just noted your setup....remove 6" lift and install P rated 245/75/16 tires (mud tires decrease MPG)

Synthetic oil doesn't do squat for mpg. I switched to it @ 80k miles & it hasn't changed my mpg. I didn't do the syn for mpg anyway. I did it for the protection.

^ chris4x4 stated he gained 1 mpg when he switched to synt, others have stated the same kind of thing. i was just throwing out all kinds of ideas that he could do.

i just switched over to syn in my engine and diff, i'll report back if i see an increase in my trending of mpgs..

Correct. I noticed this on my First gen after switching all fluids (front/rear diffs, trans, tranny, and engine), and also on my second gen. HOWEVER, I did the test on the second gen at a around 3k miles on the ODO, so the gain could have been due to engine wearing in...
