I have an MS361 with a 20" bar and I really love it. It's got plenty of power. I probably cut 5-6 cords of wood annually mostly hardwood, and this saw performs very well. It's not so heavy that you can't use it all day but still has plenty of speed and power.

361 here as well. the best for its size. Worth every penny.

the big difference from the occasional use home owner saws to the pro series is the contrucstion.

check out arboristsite.com good chain saw gear heads there.

if you are doing that much wood, get a pro saw, if you did half of that, i would saw the 290. its a good saw, but bogs when you bury the bar in hard wood.

the 361 was never bogged, throughs chips 10 plus feet, with the 20" bar buriered in rock hard maples and oaks.

you never want to have the maximum size bar on the saw either, it will do well in soft wood, but not in hard wood. the 361 will pull 25", but a 20 works awesome.
