    Hello all,

I have the stock 6-CD changer stereo in my 2005 Tacoma and would like to be able to hook up my iPod either using an FM transmitter or somehow hard wire it until I can get a new stereo system.

Can anybody recommend a descent FM transmitter I can use in the meantime?

I would get either the usa spec or the peripheral unit. Everyone on here raves about the usa spec. I would stay away from the FM transmitter even though you plan on upgrading the HU.

I got a PA-12 hardwired from the stereo to the center console with the ipod hookup in the console.

    Stay away from FM transmitters.

I owned an ipod2car PXDP for about 5 years. I just upgraded to a USA Spec PA15-toy unit. The Ipod2car PXDP worked GREAT and still works great. However... when you upgrade your ipod (firmware), there are compatibility issues (click wheel doesn't work all that great) and the main reason why I bought another unit.

Over the years...the ipod2car units haven't changed much in terms of features. The USA spec has more features than the ipod2car and the reason why I did not go back with the peripheral unit.

I do not know if USA spec has the same compatibility issues or not. I would do some research... Is your ipod fairly new?

Are you able to skip on the iPod from your steering wheel controls?

x4 on the Spec USA PA15-TOY. I installed one in my 2010 Double Cab 4x4 TRD Offroad with JBL and it works great with my iPhone 3G.
