    I am about to buy one or the other. I am looking for some insight from you guys and gals, I am looking at a 07 Tacoma Prerunner TRD it is loaded with all the options and has 8000 miles. The other is a 08 Tacoma TRD Sport this has 10000 miles.

    07= $22,500
    08= $22,800

    Are they both in the right price range and which one should I get??? This is my first Toyota and I know you guys have alot more knowledge about this than I do. Thanks in Advance
    Sorry they are both Dbl cab and 4x2

    I would also go with the TRD Sport. I thought all TRD Sport's were 4x4. Am I mistaken? Nice truck Taco@you123...

    Take the advice from the great people on here, about which one to buy. Then go to Edmunds.com to see what you should be paying for it. I would negotiate somewhere near wholesale. Never pay retail!

    Good luck,
    Sean

    Get a dealer to do a printout of all options, to get an idea of MSRP when new so the percentage of depreciation can be figured. That is if they are so close to what you want that you are to the point of a coin toss. Msrp price increases between '07 and 08 models was around 100.00 on reg cab trucks and just a couple a hundred on Access Cabs and Double Cabs, so if both are equipped close then the 08 should have cost just a little more than the 07, as both years offered incentives off and on both years, and the 07 has 1 more model year of age even if they are only a few months apart in build dates. That one extra year of age doesn't make much difference now, but it may 3-4 years from now if you go to sell it; in other words 4 years from now the 07 might be a $12,000.00 used truck and the 08 may be a $13,500.00 truck , or the may still be just a couple hundred difference. Both being TRD's will make then pretty well equipped, as both are the parallel top line trim option trucks and the TRD Offroad pkg and the Sport pkg have just a few chassis and visual trim items different between them.

    08 sport. and you could prolly get a brand new one with 0 miles for about 24-25000 so if you are financing why not get a brand new truck?

    I am waiting for Edmonds.com and the dealers in the area to email me back. The only problem with the dealer on a brand new, is all of the hidden fees I went to one and by the time I was done the truck was darn near $26,000

    Yes they both are loaded. I really like these trucks. I have a Chevy DMax for pulling our horses. And these trucks are alot more comfortable than that.

    In regards to the trd off road pre runner,the rear diff.has a locker. The sport has a limited slip diff. How hard do you plan on hitting the dirt?? (locker) 95% street?? (slip diff.)

    Get a new one, the $ealers are trying to give them away now. Nobody wants a truck with the gas prices so high. You can get a good deal now on a new one.
