Urd cai?

Any thoughts on the urd cai? im thinkin bout gettin one, but dont wanna get shafted.

 

I'm pretty sure you have to cut something out for the intake hose to go through.

 

yah, you cut out a small hole from the radiator support wall. it's not that bad tho

 

yea im not to worried about doin a lil cutting. i want to know if it is worth the money. is it a good product? anything better in price range($300)?

 

You have to cut the radiator support, and you also have to cut your MAF sensor wires, extend them, then resolder.

I've heard from a lot of people that they really like the intake and never had any issues. I've also heard bad things about it from many others regarding problems.

If you are good at soldering, don't mind cutting your factory wires, and live in a place where you don't get real heavy rain, I think you would enjoy it.

I HIGHLY recommend getting at least the MAF calibrator to tune for it though.

 

thanks a lot XrunnIT, i didnt know about the soldering of the wires. thats got me a lil worried, thats the reason i havent changed gauge lights yet. damnit.

any quality cai that dont require soldering?

do u guys think the urd does anything besides make noise without the urd maf sensor?

 

Yea, it does something other than make noise.

The placement of the inlet takes advantage of the dynamic pressure that builds up in front of the vehicle the faster you drive, the more power it will make.

and these gains were without the maf sensor? would u say the average person could do the soldering?

 

For the most part soldering is pretty simple. Anybody can do it. To do it well takes practice.

 

That was done on my 2005 XRunner and the only mod was the URD TCAI. It was without the URD MAF Sensor Calibrator.
