go for it, you truly will not be dissapointed. Gas mileage for me is in the 18-19 mpg range, so i guess no difference if you have or don't have one. I change oil every 3-4,000 miles and it looks the same to me so far. Funny how all the negative opinions and off the wall side comments come from the individuals that don't have one.

Looks like I'm late responding as the decision has already been made but my 2cents is that I love it. I have had a 2000 Tundra with headers and cold air intake and my wife has a sequoia both 4.7l. The 4.0 with supercharger is more fun. Part of it might be that I have the 6sp along with it which isn't an option with the 4.7l. It truly brings a grin to my face. Whether it's accelerating on the on ramp or just touching the gas to pass, its a blast. Is it practical? uh, no. But it sure is fun! Just today I was behind my wife at a stop light...light turns green, She turns left onto a 2 lane road, I'm behind her and hit it. I took her in second gear like she was sitting still and she said she had the pedal to the floor. I have always been impressed with that 4.7l but my current set up is a blast. It's no Audi twin turbo but then again, I can haul my 3 kids, my dog, my dirtbike, my mountain bike, make my home depot runs and still have fun. Gas mileage sucks. If I'm easy on her i get 15-16mpg's. When I get on it, it's more like 14mpg. I'm sure the 255/85's dont help since I havent regeared yet but the truck in its current form is a hoot.

    I confused gadget...

Which truck is in florida and which is in MD?
You have a 1GR in your 4runner now?
You are releasing another supercharger for the 1GR or for the 5VZ?
How much power is the 4runner putting down with the prototype?

The TRD s/c with an intake and some exhaust work will be over 300rwhp.

I have a prototype supercharger system on a 2006 4Runner. That truck is in FL right now. The configuration we are releasing it in will be in the same power range as the Tacoma MkII Stage I, around 340 RWHP on a completely stock truck with completely stock exhaust system.

I have a prototype supercharger system on a 1997 4Runner. That truck is in MD right now. This has been dynoed over 300 RWHP. I do not know of any TRD supercharged trucks making the same power level without NOS. Once we get the bids back from the foundries that will be casting the parts this will likely go into production. It will be a bit different than what you see in the pictures.

I believe you and I HIGHLY respect your word. You more then proven your wisdom in this forum and four other.

My problem is that I am using this truck most of the time for long runs ( camping and fishing Upstate). In my old supercharged-4Runner I installed a TRD exhaust and even, do, around the town was nice to hear the rumble,,,,when I got on the highway was getting tired of it pretty quick. Oh well, I guess I am getting older.

Now I know that the TRD map can be a hit or miss (too lean or rich). I am going to test this for couple months and based on what I see, feel is going to influence my decision. Again, this is also dictated by my $$$$ situation at this time. My wife was very comprehensive with my $4500 expense (supercharger and installation) but if I tell her that I need another $1500 for tuning????. She my make me sleep in the truck for a week Ha,ha. Believe me if I had the dow$ I would be on my way to Maryland friday night, right after i pick my truck. Oh well,, patience is a VIRTUE ,, someone said.

I really thank you for your suggestions.
