I hope this is in the right section, please let me know if it isn't.
I have been looking for a 1st gen for a run around truck and hunting rig and found this one. What do you think for the price. It's a 1997, 4X4, 6 cyl, manual trans,272,000 miles. for $3500

does seem kinda high in the mileage department...mine is an 88 with only 151K on it and I paid $1600 and the body is in PERFECT condition...

3500 is a bit high. Granted, it may be in great condition, but it does have 272k. Check the rust situation (if its in UT than it shouldn't be that bad). Ask about timing belt, clutch, etc. because those repairs are quite important.

3000 is a good deal IMO. 3500 is not bad, but try for less.

If you could post larger pics that would help. My opinion, that's high miles for an "everyday driver". BUT, if it's a "2nd" vehicle for hunting, hauling stuff locally, bumming around, etc., it's fine. I wouldn't expect to get many more miles from it though, and not by any means expect it to be reliable daily transportation. The price, I have no idea. I don't know your budget, but I would save up more $$$ and get something with much less miles. Of course, this is all just "MY" opinion though..:)

BTW, good luck, and welcome to the forum...:D
