If I could tie my factory bluetooth controls into it I'd get it but it looks like you have to buy an all in one controller that doesn't look as good. I want a DVD HU but I think I will stick with the OEM JBL setup for now.

I don't think you can change it, but I haven't tried.

    Q:Which ipod cable?
A: I bought the more expensive one, the CCUIPOD2. Works like a charm, charges my ipod too. The CCUIPOD1 might work as well, but I haven't tried it.

    Q: Which wiring harness?
A: This is the wiring harness for Tacos that have the non-JBL system. http://www.amazon.com/SCOSCHE-TA02B...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1260888301&sr=1-1

Q: Can you hook up a backup camera to it?
A: Yes, it has a composite video input. I don't think it would automatically switch to it when backing up however.

If anyone has any other questions about (installation, PB bypass, etc) just PM me.

Random note here, but realize that this head unit will work with ipods but will NOT charge the 5th generation nano or the iphone.

    Compatibility chart here:
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_020CCU...Interface-Cable.html?tp=120&tab=detailed_info

Apple decided to drop support for firewire charging and only charge through the USB pins without backwards compatibility. This unit charges through the firewire pins so if you have an older ipod it'll work fine for you. Otherwise you're gonna hate when your favorite song stops mid-play because your battery died.

Apple defined their own proprietary interface, had other companies build products around their design specs, and then dropped support for those specs in favor of a pre-existing standard. I cannot accurately put into words how much I despise Apple for shiat like this.

    Anyway, be informed when purchasing.

I installed mine on Friday afternoon and it works well. Definitely worth $199. The only difference between the two ipod chords is the length, I went with the cheaper one and it works fine.

It does NOT work w/ steering wheel controls, you will need to buy a PAC SWI jack, which run about $50 on the internet.

I was kind of disappointed with the Schosche dash kit, the color didn't match well and the support brackets are pretty flimsy.

It DOES charge the iphone when using the CCUIPOD2 cable. Just tried it.

    1) I think that there is a difference between the two. The CCUIPOD1 can't charge some of the newer devices.

2)The jack might be needed but the unit does have a cable/connection for the SWI(Steering wheel interface).

3)While the Schosche dash kit isn't a color match for the old piece, it still looks good. There are so many shades of grey in the Taco interior that it looks like it "belongs"

    that should work

    1. Probably true.
    2. Correct, the HU did have an SWI connection but our truck requires an SWI jack
    3. I agree, it still looks good but I might have gone with he metra dash kit if I knew about it before I bought the schosche

Can I just ground the green parking brake wire, or do I need to do something else?

    Thanks,

No, you will need to install a flip switch or push button. The "relay" method won't work either, I tried it.
First, go to Radio Shack and buy the switch/button that you prefer. It must be an "on/off" type, "momentary" switches won't work. Simply connect the parking brake wire to one pole and a grounded wire to the other. Thats it. Simple as pie.

If you can find a button that is low profile enough, you can install it on your dash kit(You can see where I installed my push-button in the bottom corner of my dash kit). Just make sure that it doesn't get in the way of the motorized face.

Sweet, I was wondering about that, so If you want it on while driving you just push the button? I like it.

Yes, just push the button once(or twice if it was already in the ON position).
