super bright reverse light

    me and my bud have been tossing this idea around for a while, well we finally did it. this is really good if you do a lot of night trail riding!
    i will post pics soon but they really aren't necessary.
    materials needed:
    2- 9145 fog light bulbs (stock 2nd gen.fog light bulbs)
    4- (skinny) female spade crimp-on connectors
    tube of good silicone sealant
    4 pieces of shrink tube (if your ocd)

    1. start by removing your tail-lights.
    2. remove the stock reverse light bulbs.
    3. cut the wires going to the stock reverse light sockets about 1" from the socket.
    4. crimp the female spades on the wires.
    5. push the female spades on the bulb prongs.
    6. put a thick bead of silicone around the reverse light hole in the tail-light.
    7. very carefully push the bulb into the hole.(do not get silicone on the bulb)
    8. let dry around 1 hour. (you might need to put some tape or something heavy on them to hold them in place).
    9. re-install tail-lights.
    your done!
    the lights are ridiculously bright day or night. the good thing about it is that you dont have to install relays or any additional wiring.

    its not worthless bro it just isn't as good as it can be. pics will come soon.
    what exactly do you want pics of anyway? i explained exactly what to do step by step do you have to have pics of each step? or do you want to have pics of the finished product to see how bright they are? if you know how bright the stock foglights are you know what this mod will do for you!

    the wattage isn't anything the wire cant handle as the wire is the same size as the stock foglight wire. as for changing the bulb you just peel the old out and re-silicone a new one in.

    as far as i know it isn't illegal. i dont know about where you live though.
    toyota cannot void your warranty on any specific part unless they can prove that alterations that you made caused the problem with said part.

    im sure you probaly could but my 09 has led brake lights. i haven't experimented with the brakelights much. but as far as the laws in florida i dont think there is any rule on how bright they are.

    with the older models you could probaly use a good led bulb to brighten things up a bit just dont use the ones that come without diodes installed

    the leds are great but you have to make sure they have diodes in them otherwise the power can back-feed and cause erratic lighting of the other bulbs on the circuit.

    you can probaly do it still just try to fit the bulb in the hole if it fits your good.
