    Now, I don't claim to be any kind petrolium engineer (I only claimed to have worked in a gas station, ) but I am quite sure octane is not gas. Octane is a component of gas (not to be confused with octane rating which is gases resistance to detonation,) right? So, wouldn't it be possible for my claim that octane could be seperated from the gas? I heard this from our gas delivery guy, it could be wrong, but I tend to believe him as he had worked in the industry for decades.

    Perhaps my statement was over generalized, but yes octane is a component of gas. Maybe there is an octane boost that is separated from the gas?

    I filled the last two tanks with the 91 and I did not notice a difference in economy. I need to do a more precise measurement just to see what the deal is.

    I paid on average 3 bucks more to fill with 91, may not be much but it bet it sure ads up over a few years.

    I was just doing you a favor and clearing up what you may not have understood. No where did I call you a douche. Others have and I was just pointing out the grammatical statement that pointed to you as said douche. Feel free to read the post saying that you are infact, a douche.

    SSSSEEEAAARRRRCCCCCHHHHH!!!!:eek::eek:

    manual calls for 91, but down to 87 may be used w/ decreased (see retarded timing) performance.

    i've used 87 since day one. tried 91 for 6 fillups last year when gas was cheap...no difference in mileage or butt dyno...
