17" Wheel and 33" Tires

    Im going to be getting the readylift leveling kit that I was told by the shop Im buying it from and getting it installed from that I will be able to run 33" tires. My question is, can I run 17" wheels and 33" tires on it without rubbing alot? The leveling kit gives me 2.25 inches of lift. Thanks for the help!

    the 17" rims won't matter. it's really more the matter of the width of the rim and the offset. 33's with just over 2" of lift will almost definately rub. several members have a 3" lift with 285/70/17 and they need to do some triming.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    u'll prolly have to end up removing the front mud flaps and the inner fenders for 33's on just 2.25". roxspin had to do that w/ his. for 33's w/ minor trimming u need 3" of lift

    A few bolts are different.
    Im running Nitto 285/70/17's (2/10" shorter than 33") on my stock 17 inch rims. you will need to go down to your local parts store and get a set of 1/4" spacers for the front wheels to get more clearance. even with the extra 1/4" the tires still rub on the upper control arm at full steer.     they are pricey and will probably require some other trimming to prevent rub but i like my stock wheels ant thy will look sweet sitting out an extra inch.

    I just put a toy tec leveling kit on my truck. It has a 3" up front and add a leaf in the rear. I am running BFG 285/70/17 and I am rubbing pretty good. I have not removed my mud flaps yet.

    yeah...u definately have to run wheel spacers to fit anything wider than a 265 on stock rims b/c of the backspacing

    Im putting new wheels on that have a back spacing, Im going to take off all my mud flaps and Im going to have to trim a little but in the inner wheel well. Hopefully then they will fit fine with no rub. I have been talking to a guy who has a similar set up and he has no rub. The shop where I will have it done at also says it should work. Ill post pics when it gets done but it won't be for a few weeks.

    I have aftermarket wheels with the backspacing and I will probably still rub when I remove the mud flaps. What material is the front end spacer made out of on the kit you are getting Pat.

    If you are not totally set on that lift, checkout Toy Tec. I had a lift like that at first and didn't like how it looked. That is why I went with 3" up front and add a leaf for 195( That included shipping). I am very happy with it.
