    I get to work about 6-6:30, and check the concrete we produce for the customer, I often work hand in hand with masons and engineers and architects to help get the jobsite where it needs to be concerning the concrete, because none of you know what the hell you're doing ! :devil:

    Wow! Thats a lot of magazines!

    She passes on her Readers digest to me. That might be one of the reasons for the decline. If there are any lifetimers left, passing the old ones on to relatives.

    I think they started in 1922. I sure wish I had some of the original ones.

    One of the first things I learned on the training program and one of the first things I teach now is a.) which gas stations and restaraunts are 'police friendly' (read: discounted or free shit) and b.) the cleanest bathrooms throughout the city. I don't go to a dirty restroom or pay full price for something more than once.

    I worked for a Papa Johns part time. And one of the managers would give the cops pizza free, if they were in uniform & picked it up. Then the next manager that took over the store, would give it to them for 50% off & sometimes free. Our store had an arrangement with the sherrif. If they let us(the drivers) speed a little over the limit. If we were going way over, we would get a ticket. They would also report to the store manager & the manager would take care of that. I have passed the deputies doing 15-20 over & seen them wave their finger at me.

    I'm a GS-14 senior database admin for a Federal agency. I work 2300 - 0730 Thu - Monday. I'm responsible for 35 Tbytes of data spread over 3 mainframes. Been with the agency 32 years and can retire in March of 2012, but I'll probably wait until I'm 60 in 2017.

    Here where I work - they call those *potty breaks* :rolleyes:

    The 'smokers' seem to expect them every hour. If they don't get one - they cry "I've gotta go to the bathroom" (and you can't deny them of that).

    It's endless....:rolleyes:

    My first job after retiring from the army was at a home improvement box store (red not orange :p). You could not leave the store on breaks or smoke on the premises. I don't smoke but saw many who did run to their cars at lunch so they could drive 10' off store property to light up.

    Oh yeah....I can believe that.

    They do that in our plant also. A few of them got caught smoking pot in their cars. :rolleyes: They got fired right on the spot. And there's always someone you know in the plant who always smells like they've been drinking.

    One of our Supervisors is an alcoholic and he gets the shakes when he's dry during work hours.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Get up at 3:45, bathroom, get dressed, head out the door. Get to the jobsite at 4:50 early enough for a good parking spot, catch a nap until 5:30, then head into the building where I try to read my newspaper while my crew filters in. We start at 6:00. From then until quitting time, which is supposed to be 2:30, I am a boss, counselor, director, motivator, english teacher, math teacher, company representative, bank, and filthy, dirty construction worker(according to the patrons who patronage the building in which we work).
    Somewhere in between I actually do get a break of about 20 minutes.

    Hence your username..... I can soooo relate.

    I've been referred to as "Pig Pen" at work. I can't help it, I just dive into my work. Some of those cleaner boys often tip toe around the job trying to avoid the dirt. :rolleyes: Pansies... :rofl:
