Just happen to have one 'in-stock' - just counted 27. BTA I have 62 year-old eyes. The idea of the lifetime warranty is the way to go!

I had 2 but gave one away as a 'door prize' at our Bill Burke outing. I have been on a trip where 2 were blown but not on the same truck. :)

    Dirty 30's™ - 30 Spline Birfield/Axle Kit
With larger tires and more horse power than ever before being used on the trails these days, upgrades for your rig are more critical than ever. In a Toyota, one of the common failures are your stock 27 spline birfields. That is why we have developed our new 30 spline chromoly birfields, the Dirty 30s' ™. This birfield will get you to where you need to go and give you confidence and peace of mind while you are getting there.

These Dirty 30’s are made out of 100% 4340 chromoly and are precision polished to remove any imperfections that may cause stress risers. The ball bearings are manufactured out of the highest quality attainable in chrome steel ball bearing manufacturing, AISI 52100 is the standard of material used. The 30 spline axle shafts are 100% chromoly with a polished seal surface.

These parts have undergone years of extensive in-house and field testing and we are proud to share the results with you. The average failure rate was consistently at 8500 ft. lbs. of applied torque at a 30 degree angle. They were also field tested at the Hammers in our competition FToy and other buggies and trucks with no failures to report. In fact, we feel so confident about the quality of these Dirty 30’s that we are offering them with a no questions asked lifetime warranty.

Note: Some minor clearancing of the knuckle ball may be required.

Or just get good at swapping them out!!! ;) Weren't you the one that mentioned you didn't even have to use a slide hammer last time you replaced 'em. My bitch of a learning lesson was to remember to have the circle clip with the opening down when putting them back in.

two newb questions...is the front axle the same thing as the cv shaft/axle? also, when wheeling how do you know when you've broken one?

In this discussion yes. We are talking about them as though they are one, complete assembly (including boots). How eeerrrrrrrrr do you eeeerrrrrr shck shck shck errrrrrrrr know if you have broken one... you will typically be overloading the shait out of the front end and hear a snap and eeeerrrrrr, shck, shck, shck.

Mario hasn't snapped one. What he was hearing was a whinning (blown ring and pinion) and his mechanic is strongly urging him to replace his axles and seals.

Just a side note. I feel bad about this - we were both egging each other on to go through that water trough and when he did it he sucked up water in to his cold water - ooooops, I meant, cold air intake. This then lead to the front end challanges that he's going through right now... or was it the jumping at Pismo? I don't know. One thing I do know was it was fun before the ut oh moment! :) :D  :(

Toyota stated my lift is too high and that's how they got shot.\ and ofcourse won't warranty them. the mechanic who inspected them stated when 4wd parts installed my new gears in my diifferential and they pulled the axles they stated they should have changed the bearing seals and they didn't so water got into my diff and messed that up and my axles are coming out. If that makes any sense....supposed to get it all fixd this wed.
