So I got the grillcraft grill installed and love it, but I want to put the Toyota "T" badge back on, and have some questions for the TW experts.

First, I want to paint the Badge to match the truck (silver streak) instead of the chrome. I ordered color matched spray paint for this. I am planning on sanding it like crazy, spraying adhesion promoter, then painting it. This should work, right?

Second, and this is my big issue. Whats the best way to re-attach the badge to the Grillcraft Grille? I have the black steel mesh one. The T badge has three tabs on it where it snapped into the factory grill, and it is sort of hollowed out behind it. My thought was to cut the tabs offs, and put in some sort of filler so that it is solid and flat on the back. Then use 3m tape. I dont know the best kind of "filler" for the back, and I dont know if 3m tape is best choice going onto that mesh grill. Will this work? Any better ideas?

the 3m stuff is the best. you could use a queck set "instant epoxy", the kind that comes in that dual syringe (sp) kind of thing. i'd cut the tabs, fill, and sand down the filler before paint though.

Could you JB weld in some pieces of all thread to the back of the emblem and use nuts on the inside of the grill?

So i can just take that epoxy to fill the back and then once it dries (and ive sanded and painted) then I can use the 3m tape on it to stick on the grill? You guys rock.

it's just that easy....and the epuxy is so easy to work with, you may not even need to sand. and just a tip, if you wear a set of latex gloves with the epoxy, oyu can just apply it with your fingers, and get the perfect amount and then smooth it out.

you shouldnt need to sand down the emblem itself. i just repainted all my badges black and just cleaned them really well and used the adhesion promoter. everything is fine with them
