Trails in MN?

I have not been off roading since the 70s with my dad in his CJ5 Jeep. That got pretty extreme at times.

I decided to get a 4x4 truck to do some hauling and to do a little light off-roading. I'm not going to go extreme until my truck is out of warranty and then all hell can break loose.

Looking for trails in MN.

Since my truck is still stock I'm not looking for extreme challenges but it's still fun to get off road once in a while where the cars can't go.

The only thing I've found so far is the Gandy Dancer Trial on the MN/WI border north of Hinkley.

Anyone know of other places to take your truck off road in MN?

 

Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone?

 

Let me know if you hear of any. I am itching to take my Taco off road.

Seems like 4wheel ATVs have taken over and ruined trail riding for the rest of us although I don't recall many trails in MN even back in the day. Our biggest trips were always to Wisconsin.

 

There is an off-roading park in Gilbert,MN. That's about 200 miles north of the cities. I haven't been there yet. I'm moving there in a couple years to start a job in Virginia,MN. Let me know if you find anywhere else that is good.

 

My suggestion is to close out your membership here and keep your truck in good shape. The people who are lurking on this board will set a bad example and you will find yourself slowly slipping into the abyss and you will end up forgetting you ever had a warranty. You will end up being a truck zombie and look at warranty type item as an opportunity to sink more money into your truck! If you know what is good for you, turn back now - do not wait!!!
