Here is my soon to be new gun. I have wanted one for quite a while made by the same manufacture as my M1 garand. Let me know what you guys think and your preferences of .45 cal.
Get to pick it up in about a month. Thats when its paid for not the actual pick up date.

The Springfield 1911 is always a good choice. Not a big fan of the color, matt black would have been cool. Love the grips on this gun though. The only problem I have is calling it a toy. I have never liked refering to my, or any other firearm as a toy. They are the furthest thing from a toy. Im not saying that you do, but way too many people treat guns like they can not kill you. Too many idiots that think it's cool to play around and act like an action star or gangster. These are the people that think they are toys and end up killing someone with it. Thats all, I just think we should never call them toys and give young people the impression that they are not dangerous. Ok, rant over. Enjoy the new gun. Should treat you right for a long time. Springfield makes an excellent weapon. Well, except for the XD, right Packerfan... Anyway, enjoy and happy shooting!!

I have a Springfield like that one, 1911-A1. Got mine in '94. It will shoot anything I put in it!!

I am also not a fan of calling firearms, "toys". I think this mentality comes from military training and being an NRA life member. I have heard and seen alot of dumb $hit with people and guns. But, above all, guns do not kill people, people kill people!

Springfield is a very good company and CS is very good, should you need it.
    What is intended use?
In another 1911 thread, I listed STI Spartan as my choice at that price point.
    Good luck and enjoy.

paidfor - look at ParaUSA. A local gunsmith buddy has had and hot-rodded a few. He has said they are good 1911's for not alot of money. Also, they are completely made in the US. Springfield has its slides made in Brazil. Yes I own a Springfield and love it (see above post).

Well get to pick my gun up Wednesday at 3pm. 10 days is almost up.:DYahoo. trying to stock up on some 45 ACP is a little hard but found some 230 gr. FMJ Blazer CCI for $16.99 for box of 50. Thru Nachez shooter supply.

Just added this to my collection for some trap shooting. Its a Limited Edition 09 Browing Citori 525 with silver Nitride barrells,porting,5 Midas grade choke tubes, and a grey laminated stock.
I get this one next Thursday.
Anyone else do trap shooting at home or at a club? This is such a blast to do.

Congrats on picking up a 45ACP, and that Citori is an awesome shooter.
I am a die hard 45ACP shooter myself, and I have had the earlier version of that Citori as well.
The Citori is a top notch shotgun for sure, and you will be very pleased shooting it!

My brother has a very similar, of not the same one. S.A. 1911 45cal. Shoots like a dream. Very smooth gun. Has way less recoil/kick back than my Glock 9mm, but the ammo is quite pricey. Nice choice.

    Nice shotty.
I shoot trap and SC with my huntin stick...11-87.
Far from the pretties gun on the line, but it's what I use in the field, and the gas system and weight make 140rds feel like less.
Never had success with an O/U.
Need to get some time on one.
Check your local gunshow for some reman 45ACP, save some dough on plinker ammo.
    Good luck with Springer.
