Only when the rear diff is locked, otherwise ATRAC functions up to approximatly 30 mph

    No throttle intervention in 4H.

Going out to play now around chantilly/centreville. There's probably not enough on the ground yet, but by tomorrow the plows and traffic will have ruined it.

didnt not know that about a-trac. seems kind of unpractical to have to unlock the rear to get more traction... Ill have to try that out and see how well it funcitons.

and yes, i mistyped that part about 4H.

Actually, maybe you just dont have it in your 7 listed, but there is also rear locked in 4L, and rear locked + Atrac in 4L.

Pyrite, thanks for your clarifications. 4H with the goodies turned off is one mode I didn't try yet. Last night I did get use 2H Auto-LSD more and found that it actually isn't as useless as 2H. Its not anywhere near what 4H can do but I did find that VSC turns off and on by itself at the 35 mph mark like you wrote but Auto LSD stays on the entire time. I like that :)

I wonder why you don't see the same thing as I do? Here is a copy and paste of the signature, as I see it under all my posts:

    1) 2WD: VSC and TRAC active.

    2) 2WD: Switch turns off 'TRAC' and 'VSC', and turns on 'AUTO LSD'. Gives maximum power to tire with traction by braking spinning tire, without cutting power.

    3) 2WD: 5 second push of switch turns off VSC, TRAC & AUTO LSD, for free spinning of tire.

    4) 4WD-Hi (H4): VSC and TRAC are both on. No engine power is cut in TRAC while in H4.

    5) 4WD-Hi: 5 second push of switch turns off VSC and TRAC. This allows spinning of tires.

    6) 4WD-Lo: VSC and TRAC are both normally off.

    7) 4WD-Lo: Push of A-TRAC button activates A-TRAC, forces power to the wheels with traction by braking the spinning wheels. NO power is cut in A-TRAC.

    8) 4WD-Lo: RR DIFF LOCK gives equal power to both back wheels. Open diff. in front.

    9) 4WD-Lo: RR DIFF LOCK and A-TRAC activated makes the front differential limited slip. 5 MPH limit.

That is strange??? I reduced the size so it would fit per the limit allowed for a signature... and I see it, and nobody else made a comment that they see only 7 of the nine...??? I guess I will edit it and really try and shorten it more.

    Thank you!

OP., your new truck looks awesome... I'm so glad that whole situation got resolved and you are this happy with your new vehicle....

The vid looks nice... I wish I could something like that, no snow to do it though. Us here in the Hudson valley in NY have seen close to no snow this year.

    I tried donuts in 4hi
My daughter had a blast, as did I.
I did a little 'muddin' on a local path and I left after the muck was just at the door. A few others had bigger trucks and stayed a while longer.

I edited my signature somewhat... Hope you all can see the 9 modes now...

Here is another way of explaining the drive modes, I posted in the Tech. forum.. edited today:

Another way to word the drive mode selections:
Normal Mode (no pressing of switches):

2WD (H2): TRAC & VSC on. TRAC (Traction Control) uses brakes and regulates engine output to achieve LSD (Limited Slip Differential action). VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) keeps truck moving where desired, on slippery roads

4WD (H4): TRAC* & VSC on (*engine output not regulated)

4WD (L4): (no trac, no vsc)

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Short press of VSC OFF switch:

2WD (H2): AUTO LSD on (no trac, no vsc)

    4WD: no change, from above

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Long press (hold 3 seconds) of VSC OFF switch (when stopped) for OPEN Differential(s):

2WD (H2): All off (no trac, no vsc, no auto lsd)

4WD (H4): All off (no trac, no vsc)

4WD (L4): no change (no trac, no vsc)

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Press A-TRAC (Active Traction Control) switch:

4WD (L4): A-TRAC on (provides the advantages of TRAC or LSD while in Low Range 4WD). Unless pressed again, A-TRAC will always come on when shifted into L4, from now on.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Press RR DIFF LOCK switch:

4WD (L4): Locks the rear differential. Can be used with or without A-TRAC activated. A-TRAC only active to 5 mph with the rear differential locked.
