I just got a stereo....couple ???'s

I did a search first....Found nothing.


Ok, I just bought a stereo off a member here. My question is can the sub and amp wire into the factory radio??? Im really not wanting to switch out the radio, I think the after market ones are ugly.

 

So you got a stock JBL stereo or a stock stereo? and you are talking about a aftermarket amp and sub? little more detail

 

No it's not JBL...It's the stock SR5 toy radio. It is an aftermarket Amp 600w and a Pioneer 1000w slim sub. The amp came out of a Tacoma and it comes with all the wireing.

a quick answer NO, u can run the factory but you will need a separate module which allows the signal to run from the Stock, to the processor with all necessary wire connections, then into your amp then sub.

Its a Line out converter...works fine. Its not as good as a new deck but its the only way to keep your stock deck and run a sub, and its only 20 bucks...

 

more of a starting point for you to see what its all about. then u can search for cheaper options.

 

all righty then...Thanks ya'll, Im not gonna have a clue what the hell im doing...It's gonna take a couple days of staring at wires figuring out what goes where.

 

for the line out converter there will be a pos and a neg for each front speaker. splice into them and that is how the converter gets its signal.

Get a LOC and splice into your speakers for signal.

 

Well it's really just the plastic around the radio...You know the silver textured one. I really like that piece and would like to keep it.

That's why I want to keep my factory radio.

 

when you install the after market radio, the aftermarket kit looks exactly like the factory setup check this out ..

you can do it just have to put in a high/low adapter to your rear speakers...which will give you two rca's to plug and amp into. would sound much better with aftermarket stereo but still gets the job done if not looking to replace. http://www.installer.com/hilo/
