Replacing stock air filter

    I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
    Planning to replace the air filter on my Taco with a K&N drop in air filter.

    Are there any guides on the internet on accessing the air filter compartment on a 05+ Tacomas?

    AFE oil free drop in, Secondary removed, tint, front D-rings, Toyota bed mat, Undercover tonneau, TRD seat covers and floor mats, Pioneer speakers, Westin Platinum bars, Fumoto oil valve, short antena, Nifty Xtreme's, TSB leaf springs, Bilstein 5100's set at .85" in the front
    Here's a picture of the air filter setup with the replacement AFE oil free version I used laying on top. The white filter still in the housing before the intake of the throttle body is the secondary held in place with 6 plastic welded heat rivets. A small wood chisel and light taps with a hammer will pop off these rivets quickly. The K&N or AFE will go back in just like the OEM with the thicker part of the filter towards the intake tube from the fender area.

    Why a K&N? Why not an oil-free AFE Pro Dry? Easier to clean, no cleaning kit to buy, no risk of fouling the MAF sensor by over oiling! :thumbsup:
