I hate chrome

I hate chrome. I took off the chrome front bumper and chrome grill and replaced with a black bumper and black grill. So this post shows what I did

Marker lights off


All the front removed to replace bumper and grill


Results I painted the faux chrome markers,the toyota emblem and the bumper

I am not totaly "Anti Chrome" but I do agree that a painted grill looks best. I have the Argent (gray) grill to replace the chrome one in my 97 in the garage and will post picks of the project here when I finally get the time to do the project. Bumper and valence will be black. SHARP!

Glad you did this - I was debating on going iwth a black grille surround when I do my GC and this sealed it.

I bought everything from these guys, http://www.discountbodyparts.com/ off of ebay. They were really cheap and thegrille and bumper fit and look good.
Shop around there are deals out there.

Did you buy the corner lights with the black surround, and if so which ones, they have them on that website from like $4-$50.

I didnt replace the corner markers. I sanded down the faux chrome and painted. If they chip I will replace with black trim ones

I hate the chrome because my chrome rear bumper is rusted on the outside and barely starting to rust on the front...

Want to replace stock bumpers with aftmkt bullbar.. but ahh so many things to buy!

 

i really like this. do you guys think it would look good on a first gen truck like mine??
