what kind of hid conversion kit do you guys use? do they get hotter than regular bulbs? If so, will this damage the headlight enclosure?

Go to DDMTuning.com and pick your kit. And you will be fine if you use your stock headlights.

The bulbs do not burn hotter at all if you take a 55 watt halogen and then a 55 watt HID the HID runs cooler.

If you're going for the "cool factor" then 8k is ok... If you want to see the road stay away from anything over 6k. 55watt 8k hids without projectors are like a spot light in your face! lol looks good though!

6k and under are the way to go! I've got 35watt 5100k "projectors" on my truck. not as bright as i'd like so I'll be switcing to 55watt later on. Dont get me wrong... these projectors are 10x better than stock and the cut off line is pure sex.

    I've lost track
I have the high/low 6k 55 watt slim ballasts by ddm 6k and they are amazing :D. definitely worth the money. Its all plug and play and there's only one way to hook it all up. unless you're trying to screw it up its almost impossible to ha.

55watt headlights with 35 watt fogs.

do you use the same kit for the fogs (you obviously used the lower wattage), or is there a whole seperate kit?

edit: also, can you throw a kit like this into a set of the housings to the off road lights you get for $40 at the autoparts store?

Pictures is the worst way possible to judge the brightness and color of lights. There are just too many factors. Camera exposure and aperture settings can effect the brightness. The quality of the camera sensor and the format used to store the image can distort as well as the monitor used to see the image. the only way to judge the differences is to see them in person.

My sig is an example. the speedo numbers on the left and right are the exact same model of LED and in person look the same. but in the picture you can see how different they look because they were taken with different cameras.
