Gen 1 v Gen 2; which is better

I had a 99 that I was in love with. It was a AC, SR5, TRD, V6 Auto and I had it just the way I wanted it. It ate up snow and mud and I was never getting stuck. The rust monster buy back got it and I went with an 06 AC, SR5, TRD V6 Auto. It is a Cadillac compared to the old one. The old one seemed more like a truck than this one. I went on a few long road trips with the new one and it was very nice. The old truck would have knocked the hell out of me.


I love the new one, but I sure do miss the old one.......

Ok. I test drove a 04 TRD OffRoad limited. It has every option in the book for a 04. The stealership wanted $20k with 60k miles. If I decide to buy I will go for $15k. Bluebook has listed at 16,500. Honestly the truck reminded me of the 85 4runner I used to have. I no frills; just truck. The Gen 2 is like a car for posh-ness and materials used on the inside. I like the Gen 2 better but price might push me into a Gen 1.

I live in Charlotte NC and when I get my rig I was going to join the 4x4 trips or start some.

 

ive owned both generations and as stated before, its all on you, its whats ur preference is... i loved going off roading with my 98, but i love the power of my 06... so its all on u man, good luck with ur choice, no matter what u get ur still gettin a taco!

 

Provided you shop wisely, either way, you'll be buying the best truck made.....period.
