Well I got my Tax return check...I plan on spending it all on modding my taco here is what I have planned.

    1. Dakota 265/75/16 M/T tires...$740
    2. Black paint for my wheels and BHLM...$30-40
    3. Toytech 3" spacer lift...$300
    4. Possibly a Flowmaster 40 muffler...Would it even sound good??
I know I know...Spacer lifts suck I have heard all the stories. I don't drive but 10k miles a year or less...Most of my driving is going to the wheeling meets or working for my dads company. I have seen a member on here wheel pretty hard core with just the spacer lift.

But my Question is, What shocks can I run besides the 5100's ???

Thanks, I did use the search on here and TTORA...

I know I can run my stock shocks...But i'll only have about 1" of down travel. So I was seeing if their were and kind of "budget" off road shocks?

I like flowmaster 40 series delta flow. That's my choice.

    265/75 r16? why not 285/75 R16

Well cuz my truck is gonna be my DD and my weekend warrior...285's look good, But me being a 4 bangger i'll stick to a smaller tire for mud, sand ect.

Also, do you have a 2.7? I need to find a Taco 2.7 with a good exhaust. I don't want to sound like a ricer.

Well learn from me :D I originally had a 3" spacer lift. Swapped it out for some OME 886's and a .5" spacer (getting a bumper and winch) and the ride with that set up is better than the 3" spacer lift was. My set up, I know its not the best, but I am running OME up from with a 1" block and stock shocks in the rear. Not the best but it works. Stay away from the 3" spacer lifts, they are rough.

I think the 886's are 650#, I could be wrong, but you would probably want to go with the 885, all depends on what model you have. Some people do not need the spacer, it all depends on how much your coils settle.

DO NOT GET THE 886 FOR YOUR TRUCK!!!

That will be too high a spring rate for your application, at the most your will need the 885 with new struts but that would be more expensive than I think you're wanting to do. In fact I would stay away from the EMU line with a limited budget lift.

I would stick with the 5100 and stock rear shocks (yes you can do that, I did for a couple months) and put the lift at like 1.75 so you don't have to get new UCA's.

I would check around on that price for the Dakota's, that seems high for a cooper off brand. Remember the market is bad and companies are wanting your money, make them work for it and get the best deal you can. I know another member that was quoted $500-$600 for the same tire in 285/75/16 from pepboys in AZ so shop around a little and don't be pressured into buying something that you might regret later.

I spent $450 for my front end. You do not NEED aftermarket UCA's, but it is a good idea. If I was you and have a budget and want a lift, I would put off on the exhaust and focus on the lift. my $.02

Thanks man...Great info...here is my shopping cart for the coils and shocks...Wayyyy too expensive for the EMU stuff....
Also, I did some price searching on these tires...My pep boys has the best price in Houston...$141 dollars a tire and The $740 included the road hazzard. I thought that was a fair price for such a meatty tire.
