ok so iv had a few questions on what all went into to building this truck.... lots of blood and sweat and words i cant say around my daughter lol... to start the guys from sky's manufacturing helped me out quite a bit on price. I origionaly had a Danna 44 out of a jeep grand wagoner and the front leafs. took of the used the flat top knuckles off of a older chevy truck and had the passanger one milled and drilled for sky's extream high steer. got the steering box and drag link and tie rod from sky along with the shackles and hangers and extreme high steer arms. some warn hubs and 5.29 gears for the dana and toyota axles to match. Cut all the IFS off and dropped it to the ground. mouted the steering box with frame plates from sky's also. welded up the front spring hanger and mounted the springs sat the dana 44 under it and mocked up the shackle hangers. after i had it all bolted on i forgot that when i cut the spring purches off the axle and corected my pinion angle that the caster was WAY off. was like driving on ICE!! had to cut the C's off the axle and clock them for correct caste. not to hard just time consuming cutting the factory welds off without damaging the tube. re installed with a sledge hammer and re welded the C's back on. drives streight now with no death wobble. cut the stock T-cass crossmember and fabbed up a support . took some reciver hitch square tube and made up a long travel front driveshaft. i began blowing up the gears in the rear axle so i took a ford 9" rear and threw it under the ass end duchman axles made cromaloy shafts with the toyota bolt pattern for me for a good price and the 63" half ton chevy rear springs. installed 5.29's in it too. PSC makes a tc style pwr steering pump for our trucks and i bought the hydro assist kit from them also. bought some mounting tabs from a local shop and threw it on. the brake lines i had made at a local shop also. steel braided with a coating over the braid. bought some 37" Iroks from Desert rat and thats where the Dana 60 was needed. I picked up a 2004 high pinion ford F550 dana 60 "got it cheap" and rebuilt it. trail gear has the unit bearings i used for the toyota bolt pattern. converssion kits for a spindle are way out of my price range. unit bearings were only $300 for both from trail gear. had ubolts made localy and mocked up some spring plates. Also i wanted a stonger spring so i pulled some dodge dakota rear springs at the local junk yard and threw them on the front. longer but front eye to pin was about the same as the waggy springs. had to cut off the sky's spring mount and widen it for the full width axle. put some 1/4 plates for strength and welded it back up. also had to move the shackle hangers back for the longer springs. corrected the shackle angles and welded them back on. used a chevy brake rotor to fit toyota bolt patern and to fit in the giagantic Dana60 calipers. installed some warn hubs and remounted the hydro assist to the 60. bought some radial 41" irocks from desert rat cost about $2200. custom built my exp cage and front bumper with a harbor freight cheapo bender and bought 4 1.5 spacers for the wheels. just installed a PWR steering aluminum log cooler and tranny cooler and raceing radiator with electric fan. hope this summs it up. might have missed a few steps in writing this but if you have any more questions PM me.
