Did anyone see it? It was aired on ABC at 11:30pm Pacific Time on 02-22-2010. The test car used was a 2010 Avalon. The potential hazards of rapid acceleration and brakes failure from a short circuit is old news, but still serious. But what got me was that the ECM showed no evidence of a short circuit and rapid acceleration. The computer didn't record the short circuit. That is some crazy shit!

In the report, a woman with a new Lexus rapidly accelerated and rear ended another vehicle. When she took it to the dealer, the mechanics said the computer showed no evidence of rapid acceleration. But now she, and other people who were told there is no problem and that it was driver error, are all concerned.

Now I'm wondering if all newer Toyotas including 2nd Gen Comas have messed up computers that are not recording errors.

It will be OK. When your Taco takes off and you loose control and die, it won't matter because one your dead and two the truck will be totaled.

I saw part of it last night, it is alarming the computer did not pick up on the rapid acceleration.
