i have seen the GROM and the PA? 15 to be used in the 05-10 trucks without mp3 stock radios. What has your success been and is there any difference. Ive seen the GROM alot cheaper than the 15.

is there something besides these two that i could just hook up like the stock 2010's where i can just plug into my headphone jack? That would be just fine for me.

I just ordered the Grom unit for my 05 taco. Should be here tomorrow (i hope) I have heard good things about it. . . but only time will tell.

On a side note, anyone have any good input on removal of the factory head unit with a 4wd knob and the airbag on/off control? I watched a video tutorial on a taco without these, is there a difference? Or can someone point me to a thread that has this info? Thanks - New to TW

i have a Grom on my 2010 JBL, works like a CD Changer -- got the v2 one with the USB hookup for flash drives (also hard drives)
stick an old 80gb laptop (usb mass storage adapter) drive in the glove box and forget what FM radio is... ha

no noticeable difference in sound quality vs MP3 cd in the stock HU.
    i would recommend it

i have the usa spec pa15 and it works awesome. I love it. Hardest part was just fishing the wire behind the dash. i have my ipod in my center console with the wire coming up through the bottom. Never have to touch my ipod at all except to download music to it. turn the car on, ipod is playing almost instantly.

I finally got my grom adapter today! It took a whole 10 minutes to install it completely. I love it. It works exactly as they said it would. The best part: No more damn FM transmitters! I don't know why I didn't get one of these a long time ago. Sound quality is excellent. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for ipod adaptability w/o having to replace the factory head unit (which I like the look of).:D

I installed the GROM iPOD TOYI2 in my '08 last night. I have the regular (non-JBL?) 6 CD radio with steering controls. It took me about 20 minutes to run the adaptor to the passenger side glove box.

I did need to wrestle with the radio a little bit after removing the four bolts but it eventually popped right out without issues. This movie actually helped me even more than the instructions. Watch how easily the glove box flips down, making it easy to fish your unit's harness.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV8Z5pCZGjU

The GROM iPOD TOYI2 unit sounds great with my iPOD. The connector appears to be very good quality. Plus, with this version, they've added an aux port to plug in other devices besides your iPOD. Mine cost under $100 with shipping, ordered directly from GROM Audio.

I really couldn't be more pleased. I say go Grom!

I have a '09 with JBL 6 cd changer and would like to install the Grom Ipod interface.
I have the Grom interface in my Acura NSX and love it. I would like to move my iPod from car to truck, so the Grom is favored over the US-spec.

Has anyone got the Grom Ipod adapter to work with the '09 JBL 6-cd changer?
I have searched and found some info, but not enough to confirm.

    thanks.

I have a grom. I think it sounds really good but I'm not a audio snob. I use it with the stock(not JBL) 6 cd changer.

Grom Audio has free shipping on all items over $80. The Grom Ipod adapter for the Taco runs $89.99 so it qualifies. There is a $5 off coupon TWEET5 you can use at checkout to bring it down to $84.99 shipped.

Wasn't trying to resurrect this thread but I cannot decide between the Grom audio or usa spec.

With the PA15-Toy .... you need to put it into DIRECT mode and use the ipod to search for an artist.
