Just do it man. Doesn't matter why you do it.

I have all the parts to lift my 2x4 and can't wait to get it on. I'm only lifting it about 3" + bigger tires. I just want a bit more clearance and to sit a bit higher while driving in traffic, especially since I'm in Fort McMurray, aka 'big truck-small dick' central, where I am surrounded by monster trucks down town.

It's your truck, do to it what you want. There's always going to be people who will either love it or hate it.

No offense but I think it's stupid that you really care what people on here think about YOUR choice. Don't get me wrong, I also like to get people's input on stuff i'll be doing but in the end what matters is: Do YOU think it's stupid to lift a 2x4???

I'm sure you're just trying to get pro's and con's about lifting a 2wd... I'm just sayin though. LIFT IT!

Go with the Duratrac tires in size 265/70/17 and a 2.5" lift or 3" lift. It'll look tough.

At first I was skeptical! But after seeing all the bad ass lifted prerunners on here I would have to say no I don't think its stupid. These trucks are awesome no matter what you do to them. Everybody on here seems to know their shit or at least act like they do. So i welcome all advice!!!!

I'm lowering my PreRunner. I'm going full blown air ride suspension so I can lay flaps.

^Got to agree with Derek here. Who cares what anyone else thinks. We all bought Tacomas for different reasons. I bought my 2010 PreRunner DC because I wanted a truck & I love Tacomas. I got a double cab for the kids. I did a modest lift, wheels and tires because I didn't like the way it looked. Do I hit some trails? Yes. Do I plan on beating the shit out of it? No, I prefer to keep it looking and running like it's new for as long as possible. So anyone that thinks having a 4x4 makes them better then a PreRunner owner

Being new to Tacomas I thought about lowering the 2 wheel drive.
Saw a few guys post looking for a lowering kit and got a few helpfull replys, but most laughed questioned manhood, parents ancestory and species.

Not because of the hazzing but due to the fact I have a lowered two wheel drive allready I decided to raise it a bit for light off hiway roads ect.

I guess the whole deal comes down to is do what you want to with it it is yours.
