i bought my 06, used. who even knows how the past owner treated the tranny. automatic, behind the 4.0L. no issues. i did notice right away the tranny downshifting and stuff, but i DID get used to it. wierd. 43k miles and still blissfully happy.

My wife has a Ford Edge rental while her car is in the body shop. Once I rode in that thing I shut the hell up about my Toyota transmission. I don't know how anybody gets more than 100' from the dealer's lot with those things before turning around and asking for their money back. A complete POS.

...not to mention on the highway something in the back end makes it sound like there is a single engine plane about to fly right in through the back window.

Seriously, if anybody is having doubts about Toyota's design quality, go rent a Ford. You will have a whole new appreciation for your truck.

So tell me how posts like this actually help the OP? Does it hurt your feelings when people post discontent about the god like "TOYOTA"? Seriously some of you need chill out. This person came here for help and if I am not mistaken this is a community. In a community you need to come together and help each other not ostracize a member whom asks a question. Lame very very lame.
