I own a 2008 Tacoma, and just bought my wife a 2010 Camry last night. On her ignition key it has the unlock/lock trunk built into the key. Which if I could do one for my Tacoma would reduce my key weight-age !

Do the 2010 or 2011 Tacoma's have the key like that ?

Can I get a key from Toyota and have it cut for my 2008 and then program the unlock/lock into it ?

Not exactly sure what you're asking....

Tacoma's don't have a truck....so what exactly would you want that button to do?

Or are you referring to having the keyless entry into the key itself? I think that would be rather cumbersome. The size of the key would be HUGE to have all the buttons on it.

The key is only thicker than ours... Personally I don't want it but I don't see why they couldn't do it.

Because it has only one button on it (probably) to open the trunk.

For Keyless entry, you have *lock*, *unlock* and *panic*

My FJ had a key like this... You may be able to buy one and reprogram the remote and have it cut for the truck.. I'd ask the dealership if it's possible

In order for the remote to work the Frequency has to be 315mhz ... you can get the fccid and plug it in here to see what the frequency is...

Actually her key isn't that much thicker.
Hers is a car, mine is the truck.
Tacoma key, Camry key, flash drive, a few works keys, remote for Tacoma. Make a large bundle of keys.
If I can combine the key into one like my wifes, it would be great.
I will ask the dealership Tuesday when I go in for her license plate sticker.
