so about a year and a half ago i was inspired by the FJ cruiser to color match my dash. i have been very happy with it, but am now getting an aftermarket head unit (thanks johnny taco). the dash kit will be black with the smooth finish (not bumpy like the stock one). so my question is, what do you think would look better with the new head unit?

    1: leave it black
2: leave it black and paint the AC control part black as well
3: paint it blue to look the same as it does now (jsut with a new head unit)
4: rattle can bedliner (or something similar) in black to give it a "rugged look"
5: do the bed liner idea but also do it to the AC control part
    6: other (please specify)

here's a picture of what it looks like now with the SWB color match

didn't post this in the first post, but the ac cover pieces will be staying blue (unless you vote to change them to when you choose "other"). thanks for the votes and comments so far, keem then coming :) i'm surprised no one's chosen the bedliner or textured look option yet saying i should be guinea pig lol.

I clicked other. I would leave the ac part and the vents blue and just stick in the black dash kit the way it is. If that doesn't work with you, I'd paint the vents and ac switch flat black to match the dash kit.

thanks johnny. yeah, if i paint anything black, it will deffinately be flat, i love the look of flat paint. first move will deffinately be to pop it in as is and see how it looks. if it looks good, less work for me :)
    thanks for the input

LOL! I'll be between! Not something I'd do, but it looks good.

I think from the photo's, you did a really nice job on the painting. If that's the way you'd like to go? Then paint the new radio insert the same. It would fit in better.

If you're going the keep the radio insert black? Then paint the vents bezel balck also.

Pick a theme and stick to it!
