I used a little crackle and yes, I realize that my engine cover matches pretty much nothing on my truck. I just have a soft spot for old glory was extremely bored.

I know its not really noticeable down there but I like knowing its there.

    How to crackle flag:
Sadly I didn't take to many pictures while I worked on it but its not hard to do.

I imagine yall just want to know how to crackle, not how to do the crazy flag so here is my best brief explanation.

Paint whatever your painting in a base coat that you will want to show through because you will put another different color paint on top of it. Once the top color starts to crack it will reveal whatever color you had on the bottom as a base.

Paint base color with whatever kind of paint you want(i think). I used krylon fusion spray pain. Then I applied this quick crackle resin on top of the base paint.
I used a paint brush to paint the resin using only an up and down motion. No circular motions because the cracks form the way you brush the resin on. Let the resin sit for 20 min then use acrylic paint as the top coat. Has to be acrylic paint or another paint that is water based or i think milk based will work to. No oil paint because they stretch and don't crack. After done drying and cracking I covered with an Rust-oleum Acrylic Lacquer clear gloss to protect it.
I got my crackle resin from a friend that just had it laying around but I know hobby lobby sells something similar.

    How to eagle:

I took this pic to kinkosand had then blow it up for me
    [IMG]
I then cut out the eagle with a hobby knife leaving only the outline and used spray on adhesive to attach it to the skidplate. I wouldn't use supper strong adhesive, then you wont be able to get the paper off the skid.
Paint but be careful because my spray adhesive started letting go in some spots when i started painting and it blurred a lot of my lines.

I like the flag sort of. The graphic on the skid plate is creative too. Together it reminds me of the clothing company american eagle. It is original & looks good on SWB.

I think you should have left it stock.

These are exactly the kind of mods that reduce a vehicles value, and dare i say, make it absolutely retarded looking. Seriously, you think you're captain america or something? Really stupid. Just my opinion. This truck is now well on it's way to be a ghetto-mobile.

But if you like it, thats all that really matters!

Aren't the stars in the wrong corner though? I guess you are looking at the back of your flag. I never thought about it because our Canadian flag looks the same from either side.
