Bed extenders

Well i've been thinking of buying a bed extender, since lately i've had to haul wood and steel rods for armed concrete; i have the DC short bed, so you know how it is.... what do you guys think is it a good option? or should i buy one of those things that hooks in the towing hitch ?(i dont have a hitch so i would have to buy that too)

Well your probably gonna spend as much to putting the hitch on so i would just get the bed extender, the hitch ad-on is ok but like you said need the hitch first.

I think im getting also a bed mat, the other day i had to put a gasoline compactor, and it was moving around the bed.... i had to tied it down, also you put abucket of paint and it slips....

about the hitch, im also considering getting one too....

eh.... Only 2 feedback comments, and fails to mention if it comes with mounting hardware or not.

 

Bed mat is great! Padding for my dog, and anything I don't want to slide. Loaded up about 4 logs this weekend in mine, and it was all I could do to get them sumbitches in the bed! Can't imagine how I'd have gotten them in without taking the mat out first. That's why I like having the mat instead of spray liners like some people want. I know the stock bed is slippery as hell without the mat or liner, but at least with the mat you can take advantage of that. Just take the mat out and things slide right in. If it were lined, then it'd be a different story (and you'd be working a LOT harder!).

i think im gonna get a bed extender for my 04 double cab before too long. i have found some decent ones on ebay, and when i get it, i'll probably use bed liner on it like im gonna do on the bumpers, but thats if i dont find one in all black.

I'm considering getting both. The OEM extended is handy for bulky stuff but I can't use it to haul 12' lengths of rough lumber. For that job, I need the Hitch Hand. Nice thing about the HH is that I can secure the boards to it. Eordonez could do the same with his steel rod.

 

^^^^ yea those rods usually comes in 20' folded in 10', so its a good thing if they can go outside the bed and still be tied onto something, also the wood is about 8'
