haha yea, we got a little off topic, lol i mounted mine on my box. I have an access cab as well with a box with 2 12's just sitting in the center in the back lol. As for as the other talk on the amps earlier about power rating and such, I have kicker amps which are true power amps. So when you buy their stuff and its labeled 750.1, 350.4, 1000.1, which ever it is, thats the rms power coming out of the amp. Thats what is nice about kicker. I hate when i hear damn younger kids and they say they have a SICK 1000w amp that will smoke my stuff, i laugh and say "odds are with what you got, you aint never gunna even come close to that 1000w you think you have."

^^^ haha, i used to work in the Roadshop at Circuit City, we got 75% off on all kicker products so i took advantage of it. In all reality if i had to buy this stuff retail i would have gone the Sony xplod route because its cheaper lol. i think when my stuff was new retail on the 750.1 was like 400-500.

From someone who is in the capacitor business (we don't sell car audio caps), capacitors do help. Whether you can hear the difference is another question. It is not a question of your battery (alternator is only good for charging battery) not being able to provide the current, it's that it cannot provide the high peak currents required fast enough. Caps used in car audio have a very low resistance (ESR) compared to automotive batteries. This low ESR is a reason you want to wire the cap as close to the amp as possible.

Please don't take this as a challenge I honestly just wanna know what you think. Kinetik lists there power cells as...

    • AGM Technology
    • Sealed Non-Spillable Design
    • Mount In Any Position
    • Ultra Low ESR
    • More Plates For Stronger Energy Density
    • Higher Voltage Under Load
    • Tightly Packed Cells
    • Superior Heat & Vibration Resistance

The Ultra Low ESR should have similar character to a cap if placed near the amp for best results yes? I'm seeking to understand not trying to prove you or anyone else wrong or right. They also have right on the label of the power cell like the hc600 says...

    Kinetik HC600 Power Cell
More powerful than 100 1 farad caps! Extreme power in a small package. Mount near your amplifier for tons of power reinforcement. Easily starts a V8 engine!

    Haha, Nice...

Yea.. we didn't have any real guide lines to abide by.. Most of my shifts consisted of guitar hero, taking naps, sitting around and of course doing the installs.. It was a pretty chill job to say the least.

Cant remember what store number I was at, Im sure I could dig it up if I had to though. I worked at the Thousand Oaks Store.. We had some of the lowest sales in our district

But.. i guess that's why I quit. It was a high school job for me back in 2005.

haha yea, basically we could show up drunk and knowone cared since we were in the back shop lol. Guitar hero and rockband was what we spent most are time on when no cars were in the bays. Hella easy damn good paying job with the bonus's we got for install points lol. I miss that place because i have never made so much money for doing jack sh!t lol. but besides that, i hated that place lol, 3 years of my life gone to that lol

Not sure what your challanging? Never saw the Kinetik before. I am guessing it is a cap similar (in rating) to the Tsumami that Crutchfield sells but at 100+ farads vs the 40 farads of the Tsumami. They are probably using a good number of capacitor cells in parallel. When you wire capacitors in parallel, capacitance goes up, ESR goes down.

Gee, I wonder why Circuit City went out of business.

Not to completely derail this thread (which it already has from the main point of the post), but you can actually buy online from Circuit City. Some other company bought some of the assets of CC, and they are trying to bring it back to life. No install bays just yet.

I'm just wandering what you think about them. They look like a battery and are sold as a "power cell" they look nothing like a cap or bank of caps. I guess I'm just saying this could be another option to a cap.
