I guess they didn't do too well. As much as I don't like them they do fill in their own little niche well.

i wish honda would build a serious 4x4...it could be a truck or maybe like the element turned into a jeep/fj type vehicle...that would be sweet

X2. If they had a larger engine, with a bit more torque, and a better suspension....I think it would have sold more.

I wish Dixie Chopper would make a good 4x4. To me, that seems more likely to be a success than Honda trying it.

The current 3.5L they have in the RL now is akin to what the 3.4L or even the 3.0L was to the T-100, too underpowered for the truck. What the RL needs is a V8. The 3.5L does great in the older Honda Pilots.

I read the new RL is still the 3.5, only rated to 250 hp.? FWIW, Torque is needed in a truck. HP may look good on paper, but if you tow, or anything, you need torque.

RL will never see a V8 since all Acuras cars are FWD or front biased AWD. FWD + V8 = huge fail. I should know I had a 2007 Impala SS. Although even if they did have a RWD platform it wouldn't need a V8 anyways. Can get plenty of power through a V6 whether it's NA or through FI. The V6 in the Infiniti's does fine, you have the turbo six in the BMW's, the Audi S4 with the new supercharged V6 is faster than it ever was when it had a V8.

And yea, the RL has a 300hp 3.7.

for a truck like that the chevy avalanche is perfect i love the avalanches so roomy have good power and they try and get good gas mileage with the computer system that when your cruising it drops down from a v8 to 4 cylinders

Just great, now all the would have purchased a ridgeline buyers will buy a Tacoma and before you know it we will be having to sort through all the mirror vanity light mod threads and dozens of polls asking does the Tacoma have too stiff of a ride? along with 1000's of questions about the fingernail polish dryer TSB

If the ridgeline is anything like their motorcycles, espicially sportbikes, it's probably a pretty disappointing vehicle. In the motorcycle kingdom, Honda is the king of over-promising and under-delivering.

haha oops I thought the Acura was brought up too. My comment still stands though about not getting a V8 since that truck is still FWD based therefore a V8 would be a no no.

As a former Goldwing owner, I have to disagree with that statement. I could not believe how tossable that machine was, despite a 900 pound curb weight. I intend to own another one, after I make and get settled down in my career jump.

As for the Ridgeline. The thing was a fail. The Avalanche ( I don't like that vehicle either), was far more capable and had equal or better fuel economy. I won't shed a tear on the RL's departure. Given how few sold, I doubt that very many others will either.
